If you have planned to go abroad to study besides packing bag, you must learn a few things which will help you to survive. Start count down. Make a list and start.

  • Health check:

Go to your general physician and do a complete checkup before flying. Take all the necessary vaccination. Do a complete blood test as well. If you have any allergy, ask your doctor to prescribe medicines. If you have any medical issue, try to recover before going.

  • Paperwork:

Make sure that paperwork is done on time. Make your passport on time and apply for a visa as soon as possible. Take all your necessary documents Identity card, academic records with you. Make sure to check your passport expiry date.

  • Registration with embassy:

Make sure to register yourself with your country embassy so that if there is any problem the state can keep in contact with you.

  • Review your flight:

Check all the flight information twice. Confirm your seat a week before going. Try to check the climate before confirming your seat. In case of any weather or medical issue inform your university.

  • Bank notification:

Before flying ask your bank if they have any facility where you are going. Ask them if their debit cards will work to the location where you are flying. Also ask them all the information of currency of the specific location, its exchange and rate.

  • Guide books:

Before flying, buy guide books and research to the specific place you are moving to. Guide books will tell you about the map, keywords and some common words used by the localities. This will help you to communicate easily.

  • Emergency numbers:

Note down all the numbers with you before flying. Your family, school, embassy numbers must be with you. Note down the medical emergency and fire rescue numbers too.
