Pune: Three women, all elderly people, were killed early on Wednesday in a hit-and-run accident while they out on an early morning walk, a law enforcement officer stated.
The event took place near Udapur town on a state highway path Ahmednagar-Kalyan Road around 5.45 a.m. Traffic was sporadic at that hour on the otherwise generally hectic roadway, stated Otur cops main Vikas Gosavi.
Those killed were 60- year-old Meera S. Dhamale, who is the mom of Pune Zilla Parishad member Mohit Dhamale, together with her relative Kamala M. Dhamale, 65, and their good friend Saguna B. Gaykar, 70.
“The three were returning home. They were killed instantly,” Gosavi informed IANS
“On the basis of CCTV video footage, we have actually recognized 2 suspect automobiles which were seen on the roadway at that time, stated Gosavi.
Witnesses stated the bodies were flung off the roadway due to the effect.
A pall of gloom has actually come down upon Udapur.
