Hyderabad: Commissioner of Task Force Team of Hyderabad city police arrested a man who was posing himself as the police officer.
Addressing a press conference, Police Commissioner of Hyderabad city police Mr Anjani Kumar told that G. Vinod Kumar Reddy (25) hails from Kadapa district of A.P. After completing graduation, he moved to Hyderabad with an intention to become an IPS officer.
He joined R.C. Reddy coaching centre for getting civil service coaching. Many of his friends are in the police department. He failed to crack civil service examination in 2016 but he told his friends that he has been selected as an IPS officer and got training at Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy Mussorie.
Commissioner of police informed that police had arrested him in 2017 and had seized the fake identity cards of Indian Airforce, Indian Police Service etc.
After his release from prison, he got a fake card prepared in the name of National Investigating Agency. He was also arrested by Naredmet Police earlier.
After seeking admission in R.C.Reddy Institute he posed himself as an NIA officer and a retired major got him introduced to an IPS officer. He also took a selfie with the IPS officer. On the basis of this selfie, he was threatening various police officers.
On getting information, Task Force of the Central Zone of Hyderabad city police arrested him and seized fake identity cards, police uniform and a fake pistol from his possession.
