Ludhiana: A fire broke out in stubble near Bhatia village in Ludhiana on Monday resulting in smoke topping a big location in the area.
The stubble was kept at an open location resulting in larger opportunities of the fire dispersing out to neighboring fields.
It is yet to be understood whether the stubble ignited by itself or if it was intentionally set on fire by the farmers.
Even as the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the nationwide capital and adjacent locations continues to weaken, the farmers in the farming belt of India continue to burn stubble in their farms.
Once such case turned up when smoke originating from stubble burning choked the commuters on the National Highway 5 near Shambhu barrier on Saturday.
In the fire, the wheat crop spread over numerous acres of land was decreased to ashes.
The risk of air contamination looms big over the nationwide capital area as the harvest season has actually kicked in.
