Kolkata: Amid widespread clashes involving Trinamool Congress and BJP employees across West Bengal even after the Lok Sabha elections results have been announced, a guy said to be a Bharatiya Janata Party supporter had been shot dead in Nadia district, authorities said on Saturday.
“Santu Ghosh was shot outside his home at Chakdaha on Friday night and declared brought dead at a hospital. No one has been arrested so far. The investigation is going on,” an officer of Chakdaha police station stated.
Claiming which Ghosh had defected from Trinamool, BJP activists blocked a national highway and railroad tracks for approximately two hours Saturday, causing significant disruption of rail services in that the Sealdah branch.
Trinamool leaders however refuted the party’s participation in the episode and rather, accused the saffron employees of inciting violence in the region.
In the newly concluded Lok Sabha elections, Trinamool Congress ripped 22 chairs while the BJP made enormous profits procuring 18 chairs (16 greater than 2014) whereas the Congress kept two chairs.
