Wakf Board, cops evict land encroacher in Balapur

Charminar: Telangana State Wakf Board (TSWB) had successfully cleared all encroachments in Balapur survey no. 51/3. The officials of TSWB said that two Qutb Shahi Maqbaras (tombs) in Roshanuddowla (V), Balapur, were notified Waqf properties and published in A.P Gazette No 6-A dated 09-02-1989.

Two tombs of the Qutub Shahi era — located in survey no 51/3 — were registered as the Waqf property, while Dargah Hzt. Imam Ali Shah, mosque and Khankhah on survey nos 49 and 50 were also registered as the Wakf property
With the help of police and revenue officials, the Waqf Board has got an encroacher Laxma Reddy to vacate a Waqf land at Balapur. Laxma Reddy and his henchmen had tried to hide the Waqf property — admeasuring six acres and 18 guntas — using tin-sheets at Roshan-ud-Dowla, Balapur Mandal.

“The land grabbers, with the help of some anti-social elements, had encroached upon the land at survey no. 51/3. They had erected a boundary with iron sheets around the land. Their intention was to build a structure clandestinely, but we didn’t let them go ahead. The timely intervention helped us throw them out,” said Saleem, Telangana Wakf Board Chairman.
