Illegal arms, fake notes racket busted in Kolkata

Kolkata: The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police on Friday detained three men and seized fake Indian money notes of the face value of Rs 1 lakh and regained 48 semi-finished improvised firearms.

Based on previous information, the officers intercepted three individuals — Mohammed Chand, 30, Mohammed Sultan, 24, also Mohammed Shiltu, 20, ” by Strand Road region. All three are out of Bihar’s Munger district.

The seized money include Rs two,000 notes, ” a police officer said. Based about the announcements of those detained, the STF found an illegal arms mill in Howrah’s Pilkhana Bazar.

“A total of 26 pieces of semi-finished country-made improvised firearms along with a lathe machine were seized from the illegal arms factory,” an officer stated.
