#Kurukshetra:
Kurukshetra is situated in Haryana. It is also known as Land of Bhagavad Gita. It is considered as a holy city. This city witnessed epic war of Mahabharata. Yes, it is the place where Arjun with advice of Lord Krishna defeated Kauravas. The name “Land of Bhagavad Gita” is attributed to the fact that Lord Krishna had preached Gita on the land of Kurukshetra.
#Mathura:
This is the city of adorable Lord Krishna. It is the city where Kanha was born and brought up. It is comprised of two parts divided by river Yamuna. Eastern side of river consists of Gokul, Mahavan, Baldeo, Mat and Bajna while Brindavan, Govardhan, Kusum Sarovar, Barsana and Nandgaon are on its western side. According to the belief, Lord Krishna was sent to Gokul to save him from his cruel maternal uncle. When he grew up, defeated his uncle.
#Varanasi (Kashi):
Varanasi is situated on the banks of river Ganga. It is considered as world’s oldest city. It is one of the most sacred cities of India. It is also known as Banaras and Kashi. This is one of the most worshipped places of India. Hindu pilgrims come here to wash their sins by taking bath in Ganga. They believe if they die in Banaras, they will get rid of cycle of re-birth and will get salvation.
There are many other places of religious significance including Dwarka, Ayodhya, Haridwar and Kanchipuram. All have their own importance. All are revered as holy cities. Pilgrims and tourists from all over the world specially come to visit them to get eternal peace and tranquillity from within.
