Surat: The departure toll at the Friday’s devastating blaze in Surat increased to 23 by Saturday, even as seven students fought for survival in hospitals, officials said.
Two of those wounded students have been on that the ventilator and five confessed to intensive care units (ICU). The state of four others was documented to be steady.
Most of those students that had been murdered in the fire in an art coaching center on the upper floor of a four-storey construction were between the time of 14 and 17. Some were anticipating their Class 12 outcomes on Saturday.
Officials advised the fire began at the bottom floor and also reached the upper floor. Some students at a different course, hurried to the patio to escape the fire and found themselves stuck .
According to witnesses, there should have been approximately 50 students from the Takshashila Arcade construction as it captured fire.
Graphic movies on social websites revealed over 10 students leaping in the third and fourth storey, that was really a covered patio, to escape the blaze and the billowing smoke. )
