Khawaja Asif, Federal Defence Minister made some comments about ‘mohajirs’ which caused agitation among MQM workers and Altaf Hussain announced his resignation as a chief of the party.

“Only those who are from Jalandhar and Ludhiana were Mohajirs. And any other is a fake one” said Khawaja Asif.

It was the statement which provoked MQM’s workers.

On a TV show, Altaf Hussain that ‘Mohajir community is mocked by Khawaja Asif” he started crying, “enough is enough”

He also said that I am very disappointed over the silence of National Assembly.

Altaf Hussain further said that he has been trying to connect Muslim factions for past 37 years but now I get the impression that people don’t want to listen to me. “Yes, I am the founder of MQM, but I won’t be leading the party from now on” he said.
