ISLAMABAD – Chaudary Nisar Ali Khan, Interior Minister informed that the execution of death row convicts in being carried in accordance with the country’s law and constitution.
He expressed these remarks while talking about the concerns expressed by the European Union on the capital punishment.
Nisar regretted the futile propaganda campaign to make the revival of capital punishment controversial.
Nisar further clarified that no juvenile is being sentenced and that when Pakistan respects the law of other countries they do should do the same. He talked about the Shafqat Hussain case, saying that a negative campaign in carried out across the globe by showing a childhood photograph of Shafqat Hussain, a death row presioner whose family claims that he was just 14 years old when he killed a 7 year old.
He made it clear that any domestic or international NGO tries to interfere with our national interest will not be allowed to do so.
